Our Mother’s Day theme this year—learning to show and share love—was inspired by Nia. In her video testimony, Nia shares that while fulfilling her calling as a foster mom, she is reminded of her mother who grew up in foster care. Someone poured into Nia’s mom, showering her with the unconditional love of a family and because of that, her mom learned how to love her. Now, Nia chooses to share her great capacity to love with foster children!
In FY17 we served 130 vulnerable children and parents through our Safe Families for Children, Treatment Foster Care, and Family Counseling services. We also provided 721 individuals with backpacks, Christmas gifts, or other material assistance.

We continue to promote our monthly giving program as the best way to give! The ongoing support of this passionate community of donors, who we call Family Allies, helps ensure that Building Families has resources to be there for Maryland’s most vulnerable children and families.
