About Mission Moments

Summertime in the life of the church family often means special camps and other activities for the children. Many churches use these events as an opportunity to reach out to their community and invite them in to learn about God’s love. Whether you have a Vacation Bible School, a backyard Bible club, or a special camp, it is a good opportunity to teach the children about local missions. This curriculum also works well in a children’s Sunday school setting.

Since 2002, Building Families for Children has provided Bible-based missions curricula for kids. The kids will not only learn about the work that Building Families does in helping others, but also about how they can make a difference in their community.

About the Curriculum

We currently offer two curriculum options. Each option emphasizes the truths about loving God and loving each other in a child-friendly and positive way. The materials include a curriculum booklet with activity pages, a memory verse poster, plus a letter for the children to take home to their parents. There are five mission moments, running about 10 minutes long. Each session includes:

  • (5 minutes) introduction, Bible verse, and a corresponding real-life story based on those who came to Building Families to find help and hope
  • (5 minutes) lesson activity and closing prayer
